Multidisciplinary artist Elaina Morgan’s work filters everyday environments through a ceremonial lens. Informed by her early years as a touring musician, then a decade residing in New York, she selects her subjects via nomadic observation of city life. Discovery and production hold equal weight in her process, as she often makes use of chance encounters, found materials, and ambient text. The result is an amplification of unlikely vibrance: a queue becomes a procession, objects become totems, signage becomes credo. These works find form in drawings, collage, assemblage, and linguistically playful paperworks.
